Silver Lane, an M&A advisor to the financial services industry, said it appointed Jeffrey Brand as managing director based in Chicago.

“Jeff brings nearly 15 years of investment banking experience, with a focus on mergers and acquisition, capital markets and valuation activities for financial institutions,” said Elizabeth Nesvold, Silver Lane’s managing partner. “We are thrilled to have a well-seasoned professional like Jeff to help expand our business geographically and lead our efforts in the depository space.”

Before joining Silver Lane, Brand was a managing director at Keefe, Bruyette and Woods, where he was involved in merger and acquisition and capital markets transactions totaling more than $7 billion. While he specializes in the bank and thrift sector, Brand’s experience includes advising non-bank clients such as asset managers, fintech companies, insurance companies and broker dealers. Additionally, Brand developed a deep knowledge of complex transaction structures while advising clients on FDIC-receivership and bankruptcy opportunities during the U.S. financial crisis.

Brand started his career at First Union Securities, working for its Financial Institutions Group.
