Scottrade Financial Services recently announced key appointments to its executive leadership team, including the following:

  • Drew Dennison, chief operating officer and chief financial officer
  • Chris McComish, president, Scottrade Bank
  • Erik Merkau, executive vice president of brokerage and president of Scottrade Investment Management
  • Brian Stimpfl, senior vice president and head of Scottrade Advisor Services

Dennison has been chief financial officer for Scottrade Financial Services since 2012. In his expanded role, he will continue to oversee the finances of the firm, but adds the roles of overseeing IT and IT security, back office operations and trading services.

Dennison has been with Scottrade Financial Services since 2008, when he joined the team as chief accounting officer. Prior to joining Scottrade, he served as controller for A.G. Edwards.

As Scottrade Bank president, McComish will be responsible for overseeing the bank’s operations and the establishment and execution of its strategies and objectives. He has nearly 30 years of banking experience, most recently serving as chief operating officer and head of strategy, products and customer segments for personal and commercial banking at BMO Harris Bank in Chicago. He has also held executive roles at Wachovia Bank and its predecessors.

As executive vice president of brokerage, Merkau will lead the day-to-day operations of Scottrade, overseeing service to all retail brokerage clients as well as the Scottrade Advisor Services division, which serves independent registered investment advisors.

In addition to his recent appointment as leading brokerage operations, Merkau will continue to serve as president of Scottrade Investment Management, a role he’s held since 2013.

Stimpfl previously served as senior vice president of program strategy and operations of Scottrade Advisor Services, a role he has been in since 2014. He has more than 20 years in the financial services industry, serving previously in senior leadership roles at practice management solutions provider ActiFi and TD Ameritrade Institutional.
