Dwayne A. Sharpy has joined Opus Bank as EVP, Chief Risk Officer and has been appointed to Opus’ Executive Committee. Sharpy is a 30-year banking veteran with extensive domestic and global banking, securities and capital markets regulatory and operational enterprise-wide risk management experience.

Sharpy joined Opus from JPMorgan Chase where he served as commercial banking compliance managing director, having joined JPMorgan Chase in 2006. While at JPMorgan Chase, Sharpy was responsible for the implementation, management and administration of a comprehensive compliance program for its Commercial Banking division, including the management of relationships with external banking and securities regulators such as the OCC, CFPB, SEC, FINRA and NYSE.

Sharpy was a key member of JPMorgan Chase’s Commercial Banking Management and Risk Committees and was responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, municipal and local rules and regulations for both banking and securities regulators.

Sharpy also served as risk management – chief operating officer, Private Client & Asset Management division of Deutsche Bank AG, where he was responsible for the entire review of the Global Private Client and Asset Management business.
