Mike Egan of Monroe Capital and John Kemp of Wolverine Partners have been named president and president-elect, respectively, of the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA Chicago/Midwest) for 2016.

Continuing in their roles as officers are Mark Melickian, Sugar Felsenthal Grais & Hammer, vice president-Communications; Barb Yong, Golan & Christie, vice president -Education; and, Nick Miller, Neal Gerber & Eisenberg, vice president-Programs. 

Aaron Hammer, Sugar Felsenthal Grais & Hammer, will continue to serve the Chicago/Midwest Chapter as immediate past president, while concurrently joining the TMA Global Executive Board for 2016.

New officers elected to serve three-year terms on the Chapter’s board are Ben Smith, Huron Consulting Group, who was elected treasurer, and Candice Kline, Sidley Austin, who will serve as secretary. 

Melissa Dimitri, Grant Thornton; Michael Brandess, Sugar Felsenthal Grais & Hammer and, Alex Boerema, FGMK, were elected as new directors.

“I’m proud of this year’s accomplishments and acknowledge and applaud the contributions our volunteers and members make to the industry and our Chapter,” says Hammer. “In 2015, we focused on analyzing and addressing the needs of our diverse membership, which includes Fortune 500 corporate gurus, solo practitioners, major private equity managers and other professionals in all stages of their careers. The year ended on a high note with our signature annual event, The Executive Speaker Forum, featuring former Secretaries of Defense, Leon Edward Panetta and Dr. Robert M. Gates, which event brings us together for an evening of celebration, networking and thought-provoking discussions.”

In all, more than 60 volunteer leaders, including officers, directors and committee chairs and members, comprise the Chicago/Midwest Leadership team.
