Mesirow Financial Consulting announced that The M&A Advisor awarded it five top distinctions, including Turnaround Consulting Firm of the Year for 2014, the fourth consecutive time MFC has won this honor.

In addition to the Turnaround Consulting Firm of the Year award, MFC won Chapter 11 Reorganization of the Year (Over $1 Billion) and Distressed M&A Deal of the Year (Over $1 Billion) for its work on the reorganization of AMR Corp (American Airlines) and its sale to US Airways. MFC also won Restructuring of the Year (Over $100mm to $500mm) and Consumer Services Deal of the Year for its work on the restructuring of ATLS Acquisition, LLC and nine of its affiliates (dba Liberty Medical).

“The award winners represent the best of the distressed investing and reorganization industry in 2014 and earned these honors by standing out in a group of very impressive candidates,” said David Fergusson, co-CEO and president of The M&A Advisor.

“We are honored to be recognized in so many categories,” said Ralph Tuliano, CEP of MFC. “Both the AMR and Liberty Medical transactions were highly complex and challenging engagements. I know firsthand how hard our team worked on these transactions and I am thrilled that our hard work and dedication is now being recognized by our industry peers through these awards.”

The M&A Advisor awards will be presented at The 2015 Distressed Investing Summit, which will take place on February 22–23 in Palm Beach, Florida. The event brings together the turnaround industry’s thought leaders for an exclusive symposium and to honor the accomplishments of the top distressed investing, restructuring and turnaround professionals and firms. This year’s winners, which were selected from more than 250 companies, were judged by an independent jury of industry experts.
