HRC Advisory announced it promoted Farla Efros, an accomplished retailing and merchandising strategist, to the position of president. She will continue to report to Antony Karabus, CEO of HRC Advisory. Efros’ expanded responsibilities reflect the dynamic growth of HRC Advisors, as well as the firm’s continued expansion into new service areas that will enable retailers to thrive in today’s omni-channel environment.

Under the leadership of Karabus and Efros, HRC Advisory has experienced record growth since 2013, doubling in size in the past year. HRC is recognized by leading retailers for its unique approach, based on practical, strategic industry insights coupled with deep fact-based analysis. The firm also is expanding its services in key service areas that enable retailers to successfully pursue omni-channel business models, by transforming and integrating their Merchandising, Supply ChainLogistics and other critical functions.

“Farla’s promotion to President is a direct result of her demonstrated leadership and success, both in helping HRC to deliver highly effective retail strategies to our clients, and in building the capabilities of our team,” said Karabus. “Farla’s focus on our clients’ success is a true differentiator in fulfilling HRC’s mission to help leading retailers develop and implement strategic and operational changes to maximize shareholder and financial value. And she has done a great job in developing our talented team to sustain and enhance HRC’s growth.”

“I am proud of the strong partnership Antony Karabus and I have built over many years of working together, and the exceptional results we have delivered to our retail clients as they seek to adapt to a more complex and competitive retail environment,” said Efros. “This is a very exciting time for HRC Advisory, as we’re seeing growth in many areas of our business, with more opportunities ahead. I’m thrilled to be President of this ’hidden gem’ of the retail consulting business. I don’t believe there is another retail consulting firm that brings the kinds of exceptional insights and results to its clients.”

Prior to being named President of HRC, Efros was the firm’s Executive Vice President COO. Previously, she served as EVP and chief merchandising officer at Office Depot, where she was selected by the CEO to transform merchandising operations through the development and implementation of a new merchandising strategy. Prior to that, she held the position of SVP of Performance Improvement at Karabus Management, then a division of an international consulting firm, where she was responsible for store operations, merchandising and marketing strategy, organization design, category management and assortment optimization. Before that, Efros spent 10 years at The Partnering Group, where she served as partner responsible for the development of Merchandising and Marketing best practices, including a focus on category management and assortment optimization. She has worked domestically and internationally with retailers across key sectors including department store, grocerydrug, mass merchandisediscount, apparel, value, convenience and big box.
