Hilco Digital Assets, a Hilco Global company active in the acquisition and monetization of digital assets, made an investment in Squadhelp.com, a naming platform that combines artificial intelligence, crowdsourcing and gamification to provide branding solutions to companies. As part of the investment, Andrew Miller, managing director of Hilco Digital Assets, will join Squadhelp’s board of directors.

Squadhelp offers a variety of branding services, including naming contests, audience testing and a brandable domain marketplace that includes a collection of expert-curated brandable domain names for sale. The company has more than 400,000 creative contributors across the globe and more than 45,000 customers. With this recent investment, Squadhelp plans to enhance its position in the branding and domain name industry by expanding its team and scaling up its technology and marketing investments.

Squadhelp and Hilco Digital Assets also entered into a joint venture partnership to launch a curated marketplace for top-tier premium domains. This partnership combines Hilco Digital Assets’ experience in managing domain name transactions with Squadhelp’s focus on branding, customer acquisition and technology.

“We started Hilco Digital Assets to rapidly become a disruptor in the digital asset space, with a focus on domain names,” Miller said. “Hilco and its partners have a decades long track record of investing in and managing hundreds of millions of dollars in domain name transactions. Leveraging Hilco Streambank category leadership in intangible asset disposition for corporate America, and Hilco Global’s position as the world’s preeminent authority on maximizing the value of assets, we are confident that Squadhelp is positioned to be the go-to destination for acquiring, selling and testing brandable assets.”

“Our partnership with Hilco Digital Assets is a major milestone in our goal to become world’s No. 1 branding destination,” Darpan Munjal, founder and CEO of Squadhelp.com, said. “This investment will allow us to accelerate our growth and introduce new disruptive capabilities at an even more rapid pace. We are excited to leverage Hilco’s expertise in premium digital assets and work together to create a unique offering for high-value premium domains.”

Hilco Global has continued to make investments to support its brand, digital asset, intangible asset and intellectual property businesses, including with Hilco Digital Assets, Hilco Streambank, IPV4.com, Hilco IP Merchant Bank, and now, Squadhelp.

“We have always been the world’s leading expert in understanding and maximizing the value of assets and the joint venture is another way to remain on the forefront in this space, especially as the marketplace shifts to leverage new technologies and more modern ways to deliver branding services, naming and other intangible asset solutions,” Jeffrey B. Hecktman, CEO and founder of Hilco Global, said.
