Mackenzie Shea joined Gordon Brothers as associate general counsel. She will serve as the company’s front-line transactional counsel, managing deal documentation and related matters. She brings more than 10 years of experience in the areas of corporate bankruptcy and restructuring, where she focused almost exclusively on the representation of troubled companies and buyers of distressed businesses.

“We are thrilled that Mackenzie has joined Gordon Brothers,” said Michael Chartock, Gordon Brothers general counsel. “Her extensive experience across all sectors, specifically retail and energy, coupled with her ability to quickly understand and provide counsel on complex transactional matters, is a great benefit to our company and to our clients.”

Shea has been selected multiple times by Chambers USA and Best Lawyers in America for her work in bankruptcy and restructuring. In 2012, she had the distinction of being named one of the 40 up-and-coming bankruptcy lawyers in the country by the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges.

Prior to joining Gordon Brothers in October 2016, Ms. Shea was a partner at the global law firm of K&L Gates. She began her career as a law clerk to the Honorable Joel Rosenthal of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts.
