First Republic Bank announced that Mike Selfridge, senior executive vice president, has been promoted to the role of chief banking officer, reporting to chairman and CEO Jim Herbert.

In this new position, Selfridge will continue to oversee Northern California Private Banking as well as Information Technology, while assuming the additional overview of nationwide Business Banking.

Selfridge’s expanded responsibilities recognize the growth of First Republic and the close coordination of private and business banking activities which are key to the Bank’s unique business model.

“Mike’s leadership and banking expertise have had a tremendous impact on the success of our business,” said chairman and CEO Jim Herbert. “Mike’s promotion acknowledges his many contributions to First Republic and our ongoing focus on delivering seamless service between our private client and business banking activities.”

Selfridge joined First Republic in early 2012. Prior to joining First Republic, he was with Silicon Valley Bank for 18 years, where he was head of U.S. regional banking.
