Clough Capital Partners entered the active exchanged-traded fund arena by assuming management of two actively managed ETFs: The Changebridge Select Equity ETF and the Changebridge Long/Short Equity ETF. The funds will be formally renamed as Clough ETFs on Sept. 13. Through this initiative, Vince Lorusso rejoined the firm as its new president and CEO. Lorusso will remain the portfolio manager for the strategies, a role he has held since their listing on the New York Stock Exchange in 2020.
Lorusso brings a unique combination of institutional knowledge and an entrepreneurial spirit that will help drive Clough Capital’s growth in the years ahead, having spent time at Natixis Asset Management and Clough Capital before helping to launch Changebridge Capital in 2020. The addition of Actively managed ETFs to Clough’s existing line-up of closed-end funds, hedge funds, and separately managed accounts represents a timely strategic addition to the firm’s offerings.
“We couldn’t be happier about this next chapter of Clough Capital, which now includes the management of Active ETFs,” Lorusso said. “The investment industry will always present opportunities for firms that perform rigorous fundamental research and investors are increasingly demanding broader access to these capabilities. The ETF structure represents a great avenue for the team at Clough Capital to deliver institutional-caliber research in a client-centric structure.”
“We built Clough Capital more than two decades ago to deliver investment strategies that meet our client’s needs,” Chuck Clough, chairman and founder of Clough Capital, said. “The addition of actively managed ETFs under Lorusso’s leadership is a natural extension of the client-centric approach we’ve always taken towards product development and expanding our research capabilities.”
Chuck Clough will remain as chairman, chief investment officer & portfolio manager at the firm, continuing to guide the team’s overall investment philosophy. Clough has been active in the securities and investment business for more than 57 years.
