Joshua Thompson joined Sidley Austin in New York as a partner in the firm’s global finance group. Thompson was previously a partner at Shearman & Sterling, where he was head of the firm’s global leveraged finance group and head of private capital.
As part of the expansion of its restructuring and bankruptcy practice, Greenberg Traurig added Peggy Hunt and Annette Jarvis as shareholders in its Denver office and Jason S. DelMonico as a corporate shareholder in its Boston office.
Baker McKenzie added Mark Bloom, Paul Keenan and John Dodd to its global restructuring and insolvency practice. All three joined from Greenberg Traurig where Bloom led the firm’s global restructuring and bankruptcy practice.
In the third episode of ABF Journal’s COVID-19 focused podcast, Jeffrey A. Wurst said he expects an uptick in bankruptcy filings from mainstream middle market companies and a return to “old fashioned bankruptcy.”
Greenberg Traurig will rejoin forces with Bruce Zirinsky, its former co-chair of the restructuring and bankruptcy practice, and subsequently founder of Zirinsky Law Partners, a boutique law and advisory firm.
