Wells Fargo reported Q3/16 earnings per share of $1.03, which beat analysts’ estimates of $1.01. The bank noted commercial loans growth of 11% which included the GE Capital acquisitions.
JPMorgan reported Q3/16 net income of $6.3 billion was down 8% from $6.8 billion in the same quarter a year earlier. EPS of $1.58 beat analysts’ estimates of $1.39. The bank noted its provision for loan losses was up 86% year/year.
Monroe Capital reported net investment income in Q2/16 totaled $5.8 million consistent with the $5.8 million in Q1/16. Monroe noted it has debt and equity investments in 55 portfolio companies, with a fair value of $342.8 million at the end of Q2/16.
NewStar Financial reported year-to-date net income of $9.25 million was up 22.7% compared to $7.54 million a year earlier. The company noted a $22.5 million gain on the sale of its ABL business earlier in the year.
CIT Group reported Q2/16 net income of $14 million compared to net income of $115 million in Q2/15. CIT noted a net loss of $167 million that relates to a reverse mortgage servicing business that was part of the OneWest Bank acquisition.
Bloomberg reported JPMorgan posted revenue that beat estimates as it extended $106 billion more in loans compared to a year earlier. Earnings per share of $1.55 exceeded analysts’ estimates of $1.43.
CIT reported Q1/16 net income of $147 million compared to $104 million for the year-ago quarter, which reflects results prior to the acquisition of OneWest Bank.
KeyCorp reported Q1/16 earnings were down from the same quarter in 2015 and noted its provision charge was higher as its asset quality measures were impacted by credit migration primarily in the oil and gas portfolio.
SunTrust reported Q1/16 earnings of $430 million were up from $411 million a year earlier. The bank noted a higher provision for losses
due to loan growth and higher energy-related reserves.
Signature Bank reported Q1/16 earnings reached a record $104.0 million, up 24.8% from $83.4 million in the year earlier quarter. Signature noted since the end of Q1/15, loans have increased 29.8%, or $5.74 billion.
