NYIC/TMA Slate Sixth Annual Credit & Bankruptcy Symposium

Markus Named American Bankruptcy Institute President

The American Bankruptcy Institute announced James T. Markus of Markus Williams Young & Zimmermann in Denver has been selected by the ABI board of directors to be president for 2012-13. He succeeds Geoffrey L. Berman of Development Specialists, Inc.

CFA, Others File Amicus Brief in RadLAX Hotel Case

The Commercial Finance Association, together with nine other trade associations in the financial services industry, including the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association, have submitted a amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in the case of RadLAX Hotel v. Amalgamated Bank.

CFA ABL Index Finds More U.S. Businesses Sought Credit in Q4/11

The CFA released its Quarterly Asset-Based Lending Index for the fourth quarter of 2011. The results indicate that more U.S. businesses are seeking capital. CFA members surveyed reported that new credit commitments originated in Q4/11 were 8.4% higher than the third quarter and 18.4% higher than were reported in Q4/10.

CFA, NFA Announce Formal Combination
