“Juan Pablo is an excellent addition to our Los Angeles office,” Adam Bass, president and CEO of Buchalter, said. “His experience with navigating complex corporate matters, coupled with his commitment to client success, aligns well with our firm’s mission to provide tailored solutions and unparalleled service to our clients.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Juan Pablo. His practice is a valuable addition to our significant national corporate practice,” Jeremy Weitz, firm-wide chair of the corporate practice group, said.
Originally from Columbia, Albán is a seasoned corporate lawyer with decades of experience in fund formation and investment management, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital, as well as renewable energy. Throughout his career, Albán has represented clients in precedential transactions, such as a family office sponsoring an early SPAC from a successful IPO to a reverse merger with a Hispanic market media company; a private fund in the financing and constructions of an award-winning utility-scale solar project in Chile, one of the largest at the time in the country; a private equity manager from its formation to IPOs of early Yieldcos, structured to own cash flow-generating solar and wind projects; and a high-growth renewable energy developer through its formation, strategic asset acquisitions and multiple series of financing rounds.
“I am excited to join Buchalter and contribute to the firm’s continued growth and success,” Albán said. “With Buchalter’s strong reputation for quality legal services, this move is a strategic step forward for my practice, ensuring the best results for my clients.”
Albán earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School. He earned his B.A. in economics from Dartmouth College. Albán also earned a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
“Juan Pablo’s experience is a valuable asset to expanding both our existing corporate capabilities and recently established Latin American practice,” Bass said.
