Oberle will be based in New York and report to Jean-Francois Astier, global head of financial sponsors group. Oberle has close to 20 years of investment banking experience and joins Barclays from JP Morgan where he was a senior managing director and held key account responsibility for Apollo Global Management, Advent International, EQT Partners, KPS Capital Partners, New Mountain Capital and other financial sponsor clients. He has advised on transactions including, Apollo’s acquisitions of Univar and Arconic, Advent’s acquisition of McAfee, the acquisition and subsequent sale of Howden by KPS and the merger of New Mountain portfolio company ClaimLogiq with Apixio, amongst others.

Vignon joined from Credit Suisse where he spent more than 20 years, most recently as head of financial sponsors group EMEA. He has advised on a range of landmark transactions including Cinven’s acquisitions of Envu, Warburg Pincus and Apax’s acquisition of TMNL and Lottomatica’s recent IPO. Vignon will work closely with Andrew Richards, head of financial sponsors, EMEA, to lead and drive the bank’s strategy and coverage of financial sponsor clients in Europe.

“We are delighted to welcome Christian and Tom to Barclays and to our Financial Sponsors practice, which has long been one of the key strengths of our Investment Banking franchise,” JF Astier, head of financial sponsors group at Barclays, said. “Christian and Tom’s extensive experience, strategic insight and outstanding client expertise will help us further expand market and mind share with existing and new clients and drive our business forward.”
