Asset Based Lending Consultants has been a pioneer and innovator in the asset-based lending space for almost 40 years.

To Asset Based Lending Consultants (ABLC), innovation is the unmitigated determination to break down barriers and to think outside the box. As Donald Clarke, the company’s president and CEO, always states, it is impossible to lead from behind; you must lead from in front. ABLC has a history of innovation in its ability to create policies, procedures and systems to provide top-notch services accurately and precisely to its customers.

ABLC’s innovation goes as far back as 1986, when it was one of the first “outsource field exam” companies. At the time, ABLC consolidated multiple offices in multiple locations under one name. This was a great foundation for increasing billings, as more examiners at the same company meant more customers and repeated jobs.

In 2014, ABLC started using Sharefile, a secure content collaboration, file sharing and sync software that supports all of ABLC’s document-centric tasks and workflow needs. This allows employees and clients to send, receive and share files securely, all through individual data rooms. This has also allowed ABLC to securely share files between employees for multiple examiners working on the same examinations.

Having Sharefile in place put ABLC ahead of the game without knowing the COVID-19 pandemic was looming six years later. In January of 2020, in the months before the pandemic, ABLC started performing remote field exams and using real-time apps like Apple’s FaceTime. This helped ABLC examiners conform to COVID-19 restrictions and successfully perform full field exams including live inventory counts, easing the minds of borrowers and customer alike and protecting the well-being of ABLC’s own staff.

“Collaborative innovation has always been a foundation for ABLC. It has given us the ability to overcome rising issues and help us stay on top of our game.”
