Alvarez & Marsal’s aerospace, defense, aviation and space (ADAS) practice entered its third year of doubling in growth with the appointments of Pablo Wangermann and Joseph Perovich as managing director and senior director, respectively.

Additionally, the ADAS team, which is part of the firm’s private equity performance improvement group, appointed Alejandro Gonzelez Evora manager; Christopher Burroughs, Ars-Vita Alamsvah, Jakob Gettinger and Akhil Gupta senior associates; and Dennis Gastel associate. Collectively, these new hires have worked at aerospace and defense companies including Sikorsky, GE Aviation, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman and SpaceX.

Wangermann specializes in financial and operations performance improvement for corporates and private equity portfolio companies. He advises clients on growth strategies, digital transformation and aerospace program management. With more than 25 years of experience, Wangermann has worked across multiple aviation sectors, including airlines, maintenance, repair and operations, cargo, lessors and business aviation, aerospace and defense, and technology.

Perovich focuses on strategic transformational change initiatives that solve complex enterprise problems. For more than 30 years, he has served as an advisor to government appointees, senior officials, military leaders and chief executives at multi-national corporations. Perovich has worked across multiple industries, including aerospace and defense, life sciences, oil and gas, energy, consumer goods, and retail.

“The industry is facing multiple headwinds including intense competition for talent on a worldwide scale, a post-pandemic growth surge, capital cost inflation, modernization challenges and the evolving geopolitical drivers shaping the global defense industry,” James Marceau, a managing director and leader of Alvarez & Marsal’s ADAS practice, said. “Pablo’s and Joseph’s experience enhances our ability to take on the industry’s most complex challenges. Their deep sector operating expertise and digital transformation knowledge will help clients drive change that creates a runway for future growth.”

Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, Wangermann served as a consultant with AlixPartners, Oliver Wyman and Booz Allen Hamilton. Before that, he served as an executive at Hewlett Packard Enterprises and DXC Technology, where he led the global Internet of Things offering and developed a strategic partners ecosystem.

Perovich has served as a member of the deputy ministers governance committee for the government of Canada. Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, Perovich served as president of Hitachi Consulting Government Solutions, a subsidiary of Hitachi Consulting, where he was a member of the board of directors. Previously, he served at Raytheon, where he led and supported Department of Defense precision guided weapon system programs and operations serving the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy.

“Pablo’s, Joseph’s and the new team’s joining marks the next milestone of our talent growth strategy,” Luigi Peluso, a managing director in Alvarez & Marsal’s ADAS practice, said. “Their engineering and digital transformation experience complements our operational expertise. They represent our commitment to diversity and our belief that it contributes to clients’ value creation.”

“A&M’s global footprint provides a network of professionals well positioned to meet the market’s international needs and regional concerns,” Wangermann said. “The firm’s integrated platform allows for customized solutions that address clients’ specific challenges and drives speed to value.”
