Ally Commercial Finance announced that Daniel M. Duffy has joined the company as a senior managing director. Duffy will be based in Chicago, and will lead Ally’s origination efforts in the Midwest.

He will report to George Triebenbacher, president of Structured Finance, and work with private equity sponsors and intermediaries that generate middle-market leveraged opportunities.

Duffy has more than 25 years of leveraged finance experience. He was a managing director at Monroe Capital, and previously served as co-president of CapitalSource Corporate Finance Group. He also held a variety of senior management positions at Heller Financial and GE Capital. Duffy holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northern Illinois University.

Thomas Brent, senior director, will report to Duffy and also focus on new business development in the Midwest region.
