Marisa A. Sotomayor is a partner in the banking and institutional finance and private credit practices of King & Spalding, based in New York. She concentrates her practice on debt financings and other corporate finance matters, regularly representing banks, alternative lenders, private credit providers, non-traditional lenders, private equity sponsors and corporate borrowers in a wide range of large-cap and middle-market transactions, including leveraged cash flow and asset-based credits, acquisition financings, syndicated transactions, club and bilateral deals, unitranche loans, cross-border loans, first and second lien loans, refinancings, and dividend recapitalizations.

Sotomayor was recently ranked in Chambers Global Guide’s 2023 edition. Chambers USA previously named Sotomayor a top lawyer for banking and finance, stating she excels in handling debt financings and syndicated transactions, with clients noting that “she’s a great resource” and that “she has broad knowledge and [is] experienced.” Sotomayor was also named a “Rising Star” by New York Law Journal, Law360 and the Women’s Bond Club, while earning an emerging leader honor from M&A Advisor.

Prior to joining King & Spalding last August, Sotomayor was a partner at Paul Hastings. She also served in previous roles at White & Case; Weil, Gotshal & Manges; and Katten.
