Mackinac Partners, a turnaround and restructuring firm, promoted Nishant Machado to senior managing director. Machado’s promotion comes on the heels of the firm’s expansion of its West Coast presence with newly opened office in Santa Monica, CA.

Since joining the firm in 2006, Machado has served as CRO, CEO, CFO, COO and lead restructuring advisor to corporate management teams and equity sponsors across multiple industries. As a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA), Machado’s experience covers industry sectors that include financial services, manufacturing, leisure and hospitality, food and beverage, consumer products, real estate and homebuilding. Machado was also recognized by the M&A Advisor with the “40 Under 40” Service Award for his body of work and for his leadership in the restructuring and sale of Pacific Monarch Resorts to Diamond Resorts International.

In addition to managing the day-to-day engagements of the firm’s West Coast operations, Machado is growing a core group of professionals in the company’s Santa Monica office who are actively supporting clients and have the opportunity to further diversify the company’s areas of expertise.

Machado’s work with Mackinac Partners in corporate restructuring and M&A has been recognized within the industry. Machado was a key leader in the firm’s stewardship and sales transaction for Pacific Monarch Resorts which was awarded the “Special Situations M&A Deal of the Year” by the Global M&A Network in 2013. And after successfully serving as interim CEO for a large casual dining company, Machado authored the whitepaper, “Guide to A Casual Dining Turnaround, which was published in Restaurant Finance Monitor Magazine in July 2015.
