Boris J. Steffen, managing director at corporate restructuring and public affairs strategies firm Gavin/Solmonese, was recently named as one of two co-chairs of the appraisal & valuation subcommittee of the American Bar Association Litigation Expert Witnesses Committee.

The Expert Witnesses Committee’s focus is to provide continuing education to litigators with regard to retaining experts, preparing expert reports, preparing expert testimony and examining expert witnesses in depositions at trial. The Committee also explores best practices and promotes networking opportunities for litigators and expert witnesses in areas such as accounting, engineering and science.

According to Steffen, “Leading this committee will enable me to provide and facilitate thought leadership, the exchange of ideas and educational opportunities pertaining to how the value of assets, liabilities, equity and other interests and claims might be determined within the context of litigation. It is an exciting opportunity to advance professional practice within the legal and valuation communities.”
