Citizens Bank appointed Jack Murphy president of Business Banking.

Murphy, an industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience, previously served as head of Business Banking Sales. Murphy replaces Chris Ward, who is leaving to pursue another opportunity. In his previous role at Citizens Bank, Murphy managed more than 400 bankers and contributed to the evolution and growth of the business. He joined Citizens in April 2016 from Santander Bank, where he held a number of executive positions in global banking, auto finance and SME banking.

Business Banking is the division of Citizens serving businesses with annual revenues of up to $25 million. Murphy will report to Brad Conner, vice chairman and head of Consumer Banking.

“Jack is a strong and capable leader with a deep understanding of the banking needs of small and medium-sized businesses,” said Conner. “He has a long track record of helping companies optimize their financial performance. We welcome Jack to this new role and look forward to his leadership as we continue to grow this important business.”
