Teri Stratton
Senior Managing Director
Hilco Corporate Finance

Throughout her career, Teri Stratton has encountered various challenges, but they have ultimately shaped and propelled her to where she is today. For example, early in her career, while working for a bank, the company introduced an asset-based lending product, forcing Stratton to work in a field in which she had no formal training. Finding herself in a situation where she needed to approve loans with limited knowledge, Stratton decided against faking her way through the unfamiliar territory. Instead, she took the initiative and spent several days immersing herself in the basics of ABL, seeking to understand its intricacies. This proactive approach allowed her to gain a solid foundation in the field and provided her with the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions.

To further enhance her education and broaden her horizons, Stratton decided to enroll in an MBA program at UCLA, which proved to be a pivotal turning point in her career, as it opened doors to the world of investment banking.

With more than 20 years of experience as an investment banking professional, Stratton has had the privilege of cultivating extensive relationships with various asset-based lenders, alternative lenders and affiliated professionals. Forming these strong connections has been instrumental in strengthening Stratton’s ability to effectively match her clients with the most suitable lenders for their specific needs. In addition, by leveraging her well-established network, Stratton has developed an in-depth understanding of the credit environment of numerous financial institutions. In turn, Stratton can navigate and identify the most favorable options for clients.

In addition, Stratton has actively contributed to the ABL and investment banking industries by mentoring and educating numerous junior professionals in the fundamentals of lending, credit skills and risk assessment. By providing comprehensive training and offering guidance and best practices, she has empowered these individuals to excel in their roles and make valuable contributions.
