Laura Kendall
Senior Managing Director
Aurora Management Partners

Laura Kendall believes, in her field of work, that business and personal relationships at all points of contact are the most important factors in success. “The adversary in a case that I am working with today may be my ally a year from now in another situation. The junior professional I met today may be a senior professional in another case two years from now,” Kendall says.

Kendall joined Aurora Management Partners in 2013 after a 30- year career in corporate C-suite executive positions preceded by years developing core business skills in public accounting. Her journey as a corporate executive was focused on complex and distressed finance and operational situations in both public and private companies, internationally and domestically, which prepared her to bring a level of engagement with Aurora Management Partners’ clients that is unique in its depth.

In her role as a financial advisor, Kendall focuses on working with her clients to determine the best debt and/or equity stack for their situation that will provide the liquidity they will need to stabilize their businesses and provide a runway for growth.

Throughout her career, Kendall has learned the importance of being flexible to pivot when needed in career choices as well as in business management. She can’t always control the environment and economic conditions she’s in; however, she can assess the situation, review the options and tools at her disposal, and make the right decisions to positively impact herself, her family and her business associates.

In the future, Kendall’s goal is to ensure the health of the specialty finance industry. She believes everyone has an obligation to bring new talent into the industry and provide mentoring and other opportunities for this talent to develop to its maximum potential. At this stage in her career, this is Kendall’s focus and day-to-day mission.
