LSQ

DJ Krystopa likes to think she’s had a positive impact on the specialty finance industry. “Being a woman in finance sales often means bringing a different perspective to the table,” Krystopa says. “Embracing my unique strengths, experiences and insights has contributed to providing my clients and colleagues with innovative solutions and strategies.”

Krystopa has spent her entire career in business-to-business finance. Prior to her current role as regional vice president of LSQ, she served as a business development officer for Transportation Alliance Bank, eCapital (formerly known as Bibby Financial Services) and Seacoast Business Funding (a division of Seacoast National Bank). In each of these roles, Krystopa focused on providing working capital finance solutions to small and middle-market companies.

In a dynamic industry with constantly evolving regulations, technologies and market conditions, Krystopa says being flexible and adaptable is essential for success. In her opinion, building a referral network is also crucial. While it can be challenging to establish professional relationships and expand one’s network, making such efforts a primary focus of career development will have an extremely positive impact, Krystopa says.

For Krystopa, taking time to listen to the stories of those she works with has been fundamental to her current success. For her, the specialty finance business is all about understanding people and building relationships. In an industry where everyone faces setbacks, maintaining a positive mindset is also vital. Staying adaptable, embracing challenges and viewing setbacks as learning experiences has fueled Krystopa’s determination to succeed.

“I am successful if I help businesses be successful,” Krystopa says, stating that she measures success in her career based on how she’s able to help companies grow and thrive regardless of the economic climate. While helping companies meet their business goals, Krystopa is also dedicated to further expanding her knowledge and skills.
