WhiteHorse Finance, a business development company that originates and invests in loans to privately held lower middle-market companies, appointed John P. Volpe to serve as an independent member of its board of directors. Volpe will also serve on the company’s nominating and corporate governance committee, audit committee and compensation committee.

Volpe is a commercial lending professional with capital markets expertise across asset classes, including cash flow and asset-based senior debt, junior debt, debt investment funds, equity, securitizations, leasing and insurance products.  Volpe has more than 25 years of experience in commercial lending, including 18 years with GE Capital, where he most recently served. He held multiple leadership roles at GE Capital, including Senior managing director of alternative funding, a role in which he designed, implemented and managed a funding structure for asset-based revolving loans and grew commitments under management to approximately $2.9 billion.
