Joseph Spinelli joined CohnReznick as a managing director in its restructuring and dispute resolution practice. Spinelli is a practitioner in the areas of white-collar investigations, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, anti-bribery and corruption, integrity monitorships and risk management.

A former FBI special agent, Spinelli served as New York State’s first ever inspector general and has been called as an expert witness in a variety of civil and criminal cases. His consulting and advisory project experience spans the U.S., Latin America, Asia-Pacific and Europe. It includes leading integrity monitoring for all construction companies involved in the clean-up at ground zero following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, designing and implementing anti-bribery, and corruption compliance programs for Fortune 500 companies and conducting FCPA investigations in South America, China, Korea, the Philippines and Vietnam.

“The economic uncertainty, high interest rates and inflation concerns that companies are currently grappling with have laid the groundwork for the rising demand for investigative and forensic-related services,” Claudine Cohen, managing principal of Value360 at CohnReznick, said. “We are excited to welcome Joe to the team as he brings decades of key experience across the spectrum of restructuring and dispute resolution. In addition to advising clients, he will work closely with practice leadership to identify major growth areas, expand our practice’s capabilities and grow our team.”

“Joe is a sought-after author and speaker, as well as a pre-eminent industry leader,” Kevin Clancy, global director of restructuring and dispute resolution services at CohnReznick, said. “We look forward to the many ways that Joe will bolster CohnReznick’s restructuring and dispute resolution solutions as he collaborates with colleagues across practices and industries to develop strategies and services to better serve our clients.”

Before joining CohnReznick, Spinelli was senior managing director of global investigations for a global consulting firm.
