Sidley Austin has added finance lawyer Leslie A. Plaskon to the firm as a partner in its Global Finance practice in New York. One of several recent additions to Sidley’s New York office, Plaskon joins from Paul Hastings, where she was a partner.

Plaskon represents a broad group of alternative lenders, investors, traditional banks and investment banks, as well as borrowers in connection with complex finance transactions, cross-border matters and intercreditor arrangements. She also has significant experience with distressed situations, debt restructurings and bankruptcy matters, including debtor-in-possession and exit financing facilities, and Chapter 11 plans, having advised clients in Chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings and workouts.

“As we continue to focus on the growth of our finance practice, Leslie brings tremendous depth and experience working with commercial banks and the non-bank lending side of finance,” said Kevin Blauch, leader of Sidley’s Global Finance group. “Leslie is a strong addition to our rapidly growing office in New York, which is part of our strategy to further build our presence in the world’s major financial centers.”
