Gene Walsh joined Rosenthal & Rosenthal as senior vice president and business development officer in the firm’s Atlanta office.

Walsh has more than 40 years of experience in the asset-based lending space. Before joining Rosenthal, he was a senior vice president at Renasant Bank, where he was responsible for developing traditional ABL opportunities in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee. Before that, he served as senior vice president at Fifth Third Business Capital as well as senior vice president at BB&T for more than 12 years. He served in various roles beyond that over the years at LaSalle Business Credit, Fleet Capital, Congress Financial, CIT, StanChart Business Credit and Shawmut Credit.

“Gene has exceptional ABL experience and is particularly skilled at new business development,” Leigh Lones, Southeast sales manager at Rosenthal, said. “He’s a perfect fit for Rosenthal and we’re thrilled to have him in Atlanta.”

“We were very fortunate to find someone as experienced and accomplished as Gene, especially after the recent tragic loss of our colleague, Al Foster,” Ken Kleiner, co-president of Rosenthal, said. “Gene is the consummate professional and an excellent addition to our very talented team in Atlanta.”

“I’m looking forward to getting back into the non-bank ABL market and helping clients find the right funding solutions beyond what institutional lenders can offer,” Walsh said. “I could not be more excited to join Rosenthal and look forward to expanding the firm’s footprint into new sectors and markets.”
