People’s United Bank appointed James Curran as senior vice president, regional manager for Central and Western Massachusetts. Based out of Worcester, MA, Curran will be responsible for new business development, customer relationships and liaising with People’s United’s community partners in the regions he oversees.

A 30-year veteran of the banking industry, Curran most recently served as executive vice president, regional manager for Berkshire Bank, where he had direct oversight of three New England regions including Western and Central Massachusetts, and Hartford, CT. In this role, Curran was responsible for the development of financial solutions encompassing both short and long-term credit, deposits, investment opportunities and fixed-rate financing products to mid and large sized companies. Prior to that he worked as senior vice president at Sovereign Bank/Santander and vice president at Bank of New England/Fleet Financial.
