Old Dominion National Bank appointed Penny Bladich to serve as executive vice president, Commercial Lending.

Bladich, who brings deep banking experience serving clients in healthcare, nonprofit and professional services industries, will focus on growing Old Dominion’s commercial client relationships in its Northern Virginia market. She will be based at Old Dominion’s Tysons Corner executive headquarters.

Bladich joins Old Dominion from Cardinal Bank, where she had worked since 2008 and most recently served as senior vice president and market executive. Prior to that, she was a vice president and commercial lender for BB&T and a vice president and commercial real estate lender for TIB Bank. Before moving into banking in 2001, she worked for an investment management firm.

“We are very pleased to welcome a local leader like Penny to Old Dominion. Her 16 years of banking experience developing relationships in the industries we serve, including within the highly-specialized healthcare sector, will allow her to hit the ground running here,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Mark S. Merrill. “With the success of our common equity private placement in 2016, relocation of our executive headquarters to the metro Washington, D.C. area earlier this year, and the hiring of a number of experienced and innovative community bankers, we’re well on our way to growing Old Dominion into a high-performing regional financial institution.”

Over the last 12 months, Old Dominion more than doubled the size of the bank’s balance sheet, surpassing $100 million in assets in May 2017.

“We are humbled by the support we’ve received from the community and our growing client-base,” said Chief Lending Officer Kevin Albrigo. “With Penny’s dedication to her clients, through the delivery of business and personal financial solutions, along with her passion for community service, Old Dominion is even better positioned to make a difference in the communities we serve.”
