Carl Moore has joined SierraConstellation Partners as a managing director in Dallas.

Moore has more than 20 years of experience in distressed investing, private equity portfolio management, corporate turnarounds, M&A, and strategic planning. Before joining SCP, he was a managing director at Highland Capital Management in Dallas, serving as co-head of Highland’s Private Equity Group. Moore spent more than 15 years at the firm, where he served on the investment committee of the group’s healthcare-focused $150M private equity fund and co-managed a restructuring team of legal and investment professionals dedicated to the firm’s $25B leveraged loan and high-yield bond portfolio during the financial crisis.

Prior to his time at Highland Capital, Moore was an associate at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison working on financing and M&A transactions for emerging growth technology companies. Earlier in his career, Moore worked as an associate at Looper, Reed & McGraw and as a CPA in the tax division of Coopers & Lybrand.

“Carl is an incredibly impressive leader in the private equity industry, and I’m honored to have him join us at SCP,” said Larry Perkins, SCP founder and CEO. “Carl has spent nearly his whole career on the front lines of financing, operating, and restructuring businesses, particularly in the middle market. We have known Carl for years and have worked with him on numerous assignments, so we have no doubt that he will make an immediate impact on our clients and our firm.”
