Sativa Rasmussen has joined the Dorsey & Whitey’s Seattle office as an attorney in the Cannabis Practice Group.

Rasmussen counsels cannabis businesses from startups to established market leaders on a wide range of corporate and regulatory needs. She advises clients on entity formation and structuring, financings, and acquiring and disposing of businesses. She has extensive experience tracking and navigating the complex and constantly evolving matrix of federal, state and local regulations related to both marijuana and hemp, and frequently speaks on these topics both domestically and internationally.

Her practice focuses on assisting cannabis businesses at every level of the supply chain to identify, understand, and comply with applicable regulatory requirements related to the cultivation, processing, manufacturing, and distribution of cannabis.

“We’re excited to have Sativa join Dorsey in our Seattle office,” said Chris Barry, co-chair of the Cannabis Practice Group. “She is an industry leader, and her diverse experience and deep understanding of the legal and regulatory landscapes will play a critical role in continuing to grow Dorsey’s Cannabis Practice Group.”
