CohnReznick hired Ashish Jalan as president of global operations. In this newly-created role, Jalan will oversee the resource management, talent development, operational effectiveness and client service initiatives that will drive the firm’s ongoing offshore expansion. This includes leading CohnReznick’s 850-plus member teams in India and the Philippines as well as future global expansion initiatives.

“As CohnReznick continues to unlock value for our clients and support their business strategies, building our global workforce is paramount,” David Kessler, CEO of CohnReznick, said. “Ashish has a proven track record in integrating the talent and capabilities of domestic and offshore teams to improve business operations and, consequently, client service. On behalf of our executive board and the more than 5,000 members of our CohnReznick team, I welcome Ashish to CohnReznick. I look forward to his leadership and collaboration as CohnReznick continues to become a global leader in advisory, assurance and tax services.”

Jalan has more than two decades of global leadership experience spanning Asia, Europe and the Americas. Through his roles at Big Four firms and multinational organizations, he has gained experience developing processes and technical capabilities for onshore and offshore teams. This includes delivering end-to-end solutions for European and U.S. tax compliance, driving strategy and improving operations. Jalan is well-versed in designing new service offerings, operating various SOX controls and implementing risk and quality processes.

“I also want to express my deep gratitude to Krishnan Chettiar, who is stepping down as managing director of our India business group,” Kessler said. “His leadership in forming our India team almost 18 years ago has been the driving force behind the incredible, multi-disciplined team we have today. Krishnan has laid the foundation for continued success for many years to come.”

Prior to joining CohnReznick, Jalan was the India-based partner and head of U.S. business tax for a Big Four firm. He is a member of the AICPA as well as a chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

“As I begin my new role with CohnReznick, I ask my team to consider these words of advice that I have kept in mind throughout my career,” Jalan said. “Embrace the challenges, ignite the passion within and together, let’s chart a course towards a future where every dream finds its wings.”
