Barclays appointed Christian Oberle head of its financial sponsors group in the Americas and Tom Vignon managing director and senior member of its financial sponsors group in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

Oberle will be based in New York and report to Jean-Francois Astier, global head of financial sponsors group. Oberle has close to 20 years of investment banking experience and joins Barclays from JP Morgan where he was a senior managing director and held key account responsibility for Apollo Global Management, Advent International, EQT Partners, KPS Capital Partners, New Mountain Capital and other financial sponsor clients. He has advised on transactions including, Apollo’s acquisitions of Univar and Arconic, Advent’s acquisition of McAfee, the acquisition and subsequent sale of Howden by KPS and the merger of New Mountain portfolio company ClaimLogiq with Apixio, amongst others.

Vignon joined from Credit Suisse where he spent more than 20 years, most recently as head of financial sponsors group EMEA. He has advised on a range of landmark transactions including Cinven’s acquisitions of Envu, Warburg Pincus and Apax’s acquisition of TMNL and Lottomatica’s recent IPO. Vignon will work closely with Andrew Richards, head of financial sponsors, EMEA, to lead and drive the bank’s strategy and coverage of financial sponsor clients in Europe.
