Eric J. Dale joined Balance Point Capital as a partner.

Dale brings extensive legal and transactional experience, having most recently served as chief legal officer and chief risk officer of Nielsen Holdings, where he was a member of the executive committee and led the legal and corporate affairs organization. In that capacity, Dale oversaw all acquisitions, dispositions and joint ventures, as well as SEC and other compliance matters, privacy, litigation, intellectual property, security and enterprise risk management.

Prior to joining Nielsen, Dale was a partner at Robinson+Cole. There, he led the firm’s strategic planning committee and business transactions practice group, representing entrepreneurs, companies and funds in financing, mergers & acquisitions, and commercial transactions, as well as organizational, governance, and regulatory matters.

Dale previously served as general counsel to a technology company and practiced law with Weil, Gotshal & Manges.

“Eric’s legal and transactional experience will benefit Balance Point as we continue to grow our capital base and enter into this next phase of capital deployment,” said Balance Point Managing Partner Seth Alvord.

Partner Justin Kaplan added, “We are excited to add Eric to the team. He will play a key role in advancing our investment strategy, growing our platform and enhancing our internal processes.”
