Alvarez & Marsal Tax appointed Amanda Bowker, Chad Woodfork and Rhys Owen to managing director roles. Collectively, Bowker, Woodfork and Owen have more than four decades of Big Four experience advising enterprises, providing strategic tax counsel and solving for everyday tax concerns.

Bowker is based in the U.S. and specializes in global transaction tax for private equity and corporate clients, especially relating to state and local tax transactions. She has multi-sector experience in tax structuring and planning, legal entity selection, issues of survival of state tax attributes, unitary group filing requirements, and post transaction integration and risk mitigation. Prior to joining A&M Tax, she served as a managing director in KPMG’s state and local tax practice advising M&A clients.

Woodfork is also based in the U.S. specializes in U.S. indirect taxes, concentrating on sales and use tax, reverse audits and defense with special expertise in chemical and industrial manufacturing. He has experience analyzing complex data for error detection, conducting tax compliance reviews, developing tax planning strategies, and examining nexus issues to help clients minimize tax liabilities and maximize profitability. Prior to joining A&M Tax, he was a partner with KPMG’s state and local tax practice and previously spent five years as a state tax auditor with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.

Owen is based in the UK and has experience working with private equity funds on portfolio tax concerns, with special expertise in advising financial investors. He has worked on the creation of a range of financial funds and fund raising in the private credit, real estate and venture capital markets. He has advised European and U.S. asset managers on launch strategy, carried interest planning, and other strategic and operational issues. Prior to joining A&M Tax, Owen served as a partner at EY.
