Mark Dorn joined the private equity performance improvement practice (PEPI) of Alvarez & Marsal as a senior director focused on private equity and corporate clients within the aerospace, defense, aviation and space group. Dorn’s appointment expands and strengthens A&M’s ADAS industry talent bench while helping clients best leverage the firm’s integrated platform to maximize value.

With more than 40 years of sales and client development experience in management consulting and technology services, Dorn is recognized as a trusted advisor by many Fortune 500 corporations. He specializes in relationship and business development with C-level executives across the U.S. and Europe. In addition, he has extensive expertise collaborating with partner teams on the creation and closure of seven and eight-figure multi-year consulting engagements.

“Mark’s results-driven mindset and operational approach, combined with his deep industry knowledge, align with A&M’s commitment to helping clients drive change,” James Marceau, a managing director and leader of A&M’s aerospace, defense, aviation and space group, said. “Against the backdrop of disruption and economic volatility, Mark will help us further leverage A&M’s full suite of integrated services, including tax, global transaction advisory, environmental, social & governance services (ESG) and corporate performance improvement, to deliver holistic solutions that address our clients’ needs.”

Dorn advises companies, ranging from startups to Fortune 100 corporations, on developing and implementing solutions that drive growth, reduce cost and streamline operations. Before joining A&M, Dorn served in leadership and management positions with Digital Equipment Corporation, XcelleNet, The Concours Group, Answerthink/Hackett Group, PwC and The Association for Supply Chain Management.

Dorn has worked with five technology sector startup companies to develop their greenfield territories, which included creating the sales strategy, team, process and target account plan to drive client growth, revenue and profitability. Additionally, he founded The Impact Sales Group, a contract sales consulting firm built on an executive relationship-based strategic sales approach.

“A&M’s ability to solve for clients’ complex problems is rooted in the firm’s network of boots-on-the-ground professionals who have served as industry operators, appreciate the issues and can provide critical insights,” Luigi “Lou” Peluso, a managing director with PEPI, said. “Mark is one of those experts. He understands the interplay between key relationships and business opportunities and brings that knowledge to bear in value creation for clients.”

“A&M provides the ideal platform for my client-centric approach and 360-degree industry perspective,” Dorn said. “From this vantage, the firm is well positioned to help clients navigate their current challenges and anticipate their future needs.”
