The Wall Street Journal reported that Madoff case trustee, Irving Picard, will move forward with payouts to cheated investors as the Supreme Court declined to weigh in on the battle over how to calculate amounts due.

The Journal said the payout was put on hold due to arguments over inflation should be taken into account when calculating amounts due to investors.

Since his appointment in December 2008, Picard has recovered almost $11 billion of the approximately $17 billion of stolen investor principal, according to the Journal.
