Alvarez & Marsal appointed Bob Ruckh managing director in its global transaction advisory group (TAG).

Ruckh has four decades of global transaction expertise, including experience with startup and growth capital investments, cross-border public and private company mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, divestitures, carve-outs and working capital mechanisms. He has led on-the-ground teams in almost two dozen countries, including two secondments to northern and eastern Europe. The range and complexity of his assignments cross multiple sectors, including industrial and consumer products and services, retail, distribution businesses, technology, healthcare, energy and infrastructure, as well as multinationals.

Prior to joining A&M, Ruckh served as a managing director at Brightstar Capital Partners working with investment and fund professionals and outside advisers to execute buy and sell-side transactions, onboard new portfolio companies, and deliver value creation strategies. Additionally, he was a board member and observer for several portfolio companies, as well as a chair of one of the portfolio audit committees.

Previously, Ruckh had served as a senior partner in EY’s strategy and transactions practice. In that role he focused on providing financial due diligence services and delivering the full suite of advisory services to global private equity firms, portfolio companies, mega PE consortiums and Fortune 50 companies. Earlier in his career, Ruckh was a founding member of Arthur Andersen’s transaction advisory services practice.

“As one of the world’s most experienced transaction executives, Bob’s joining strengthens our strategic talent bench and aligns with our relationship-driven teams’ approach to client service,” Paul Aversano, global practice leader of the global transaction advisory group at A&M, said. “His extensive expertise will benefit our clients as well as our people. Bob’s decades of PE experience, from literally both sides of the table, bolsters our growing network of boots-on-the-ground professionals and dovetails with our results-oriented mindset. A&M’s ability to attract a professional of Bob’s caliber further demonstrates the power of our Global Transaction Advisory Group platform.”

“Bob’s in-depth transaction knowledge will help clients navigate risks while identifying, executing and capitalizing on opportunities,” Anthony Caporrino, managing director and United States TAG Practice leader, said. “He is a transaction veteran, with the expertise to help our clients solve complex problems while advancing the firm’s bench strength to serve domestic and international PE and corporates.”

“A&M’s integrated platform, operational heritage, and comprehensive advisory service offering compliments my 360-degree perspective,” Ruckh said. “Against the backdrop of sweeping economic headwinds and compressed business cycles, clients seeking strategic opportunities need steady hands and real-world solutions to address their changing needs. Global TAG is perfectly positioned to deliver exactly that.”
