Keith Verville joined the CFO services group within the private equity performance improvement practice of Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) as a managing director. Verville’s appointment furthers A&M’s ability to help private equity (PE) and corporate clients capitalize on the chief financial officer’s (CFO) expanding role and develop finance functions to drive change and maximize value.

Verville brings more than 20 years of diverse experience advising PE-owned and public companies engaged in complex operational restructurings and mergers and acquisitions. Applying a hands-on, collaborative leadership approach, Verville often serves in interim senior financial leadership positions, including the CFO role, focusing on finance, accounting and operations.

“Keith’s hiring complements the firm’s operational heritage and hallmark bias towards action,” Nick Alvarez, managing director and national practice leader of the private equity performance improvement practice at A&M, said. “His career demonstrates his professional range from advising clients on strategic succession issues to establishing banking and payroll systems. Keith’s expertise will help clients navigate transformation challenges and augment the growth of A&M’s CFO Services group offering.”

Verville has worked across multiple industries including healthcare, retail and beauty. Some of his prior engagements include serving as:

  • Interim CFO of a $400 million healthcare company undertaking a total business transformation, including the divestiture of business units, the execution of multiple stalled initiatives and unlocking and maximizing liquidity.
  • Financial advisor to a $1 billion private equity portfolio company designing, training and implementing a working capital reduction program.
  • Interim vice president financial planning and analysis of a $1.6 billion home furnishing retailer.

Richard Jenkins, managing director of the private equity performance improvement practice and leader of the CFO Services group at A&M, said. “Keith’s cross sector experience will benefit our clients seeking to fill interim of CFO-level roles and partner with CFOs to evolve their finance functions. The combination of Keith’s strategic and tactical expertise bolsters our ability to solve for complex problems and to help drive sustainable improvements across people, processes and technologies for clients.”

Prior to joining A&M, Verville spent more than 15 years serving with the corporate turnaround and restructuring division within a global consulting firm. Additionally, he served as VP finance and treasurer for Layne Christiansen.
