OneTeam Capital, an underwriting and credit analysis company providing commercial financing solutions to small and medium sized businesses, appointed W. Taylor Kamp CEO.

Kamp has 35 years of experience and most recently served as CFO of Marlin Capital Solutions, beginning in 2015. In that role, Kamp was responsible for accounting, treasury, M&A, investor relations and strategic analytics. As the co-architect of Marlin’s new tech-enabled strategy for increasing returns from equipment leasing, working capital loans, insurance and efficiently utilizing the balance sheet, Kamp helped to more than double the company’s stock price and quadruple daily stock trading volume. Through the introduction of analytics and capital management techniques, he reduced capital needs and returned capital to shareholders. He also completed Marlin’s largest securitization to date and closed Marlin’s first two acquisitions.

Before joining OneTeam Capital full time, Kamp had been, for the last several months, advising the company on various startup, funding and growth strategies.

“Taylor is a proven leader with many years of industry experience and substantial management experience in finance, M&A, restructuring, credit, strategy setting and corporate management,” Andrew Jones, senior advisory director and member of OneTeam Capital, said.

“We are excited to have Taylor lead us into the next phase of our growth,” Matt Sapnar, president of OneTeam Capital, said. “We believe he is the right person to build upon our positive momentum because of his significant experience in successfully growing businesses, which aligns with OneTeam Capital’s strategic goals and initiatives.”

Prior to Marlin, Kamp held various executive roles during his 15-year career at CIT. These roles included global head of corporate development and M&A and interim CEO of home lending and sales finance. Kamp started his career in 1986 at The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and then spent 13 years at The Associates (now part of CitiBank) in various CFO roles, including CFO of international equipment finance, CFO of transportation finance and CFO of home equity finance.

“I am extremely excited about becoming part of OneTeam Capital,” Kamp said. “We have skilled management and are in a unique position to leverage relationships and technology in the digital finance marketplace to provide much needed capital to America’s small businesses.”
