Thomas M. Kim, CTP, managing director and founder of r2 advisors, began his term as president of the Turnaround Management Association on January 1.
Kim succeeded 2012 TMA president Ronald R. Sussman, partner, Cooley LLP. Sussman moves to chairperson on the TMA executive board, replacing Mark S. Indelicato, partner, Hahn & Hessen, who transitions to immediate past chairperson.
Kim takes the helm of TMA after serving on the TMA executive board as vice president of membership (2012) and vice president of finance (2010-2011). He also was the president of the TMA Rocky Mountain Chapter from 2004-2005.
“I am very proud to have the honor of serving as TMA president during this milestone year,” says Kim. “TMA has experienced tremendous growth during its first quarter century and I look forward to guiding the organization as we celebrate the past 25 years and prepare for continued success in the next 25.”
A certified turnaround professional with more than 20 years of experience with underperforming businesses, Kim focuses on the middle-market. He provides advice to businesses that are facing important transitions resulting from financial or operational issues. Kim previously worked for a private investment company that targeted special assets transactions.
