Richelle Kalnit
Senior Vice President
Hilco Streambank

Creative, hardworking and diligent, Richelle Kalnit has combined more than a decade of experience as a restructuring attorney with expertise in managing sale processes involving intangible assets, often utilizing creative auction structures, to become a thought leader in the asset-based lending industry for Hilco Streambank.

Kalnit believes that hard work and playing fairly pay off, so she aspires to embody these qualities in her day-to-day work while endeavoring to inspire others to cultivate these qualities within themselves as well. Having seen the benefits of positive mentorship personally, she is motivated to pay it forward by sharing the knowledge she’s gleaned from her career with others. As a leader, she is inspired to continue to pave the way for the next generation and to ensure that she does what she can to open the door to new talent. To that end, Kalnit is a founding member and co-chair of the Hilco Global Women’s Business Resource Group.

In the past year, Kalnit has participated in multiple panels for industry associations such as the Secured Finance Network, the Turnaround Management Associations and the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation. She has also written for industry publications such as The Secured Lender, ABI Journal and the Journal of Corporate Renewal. Her articles have covered varied topics ranging from the Article 9 sale process, the benefits of a bespoke auction design, how to turn intangible assets into tangible value and how to maximize brand value in bankruptcy.

For four consecutive years beginning in 2013, Kalnit was honored by New York Lawyer as one of New York’s rising legal stars. She is a member of the University of Pennsylvania Professional Women’s Alliance, the TMA, the IWIRC and the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees.
