Edge Capital Lending focuses on tailoring its lending structures to maximize availability for each of its borrowers based on the norms and nuances of each business. Rather than follow the lead of other asset-based lenders, Edge Capital Lending seeks to go against the grain, lending to undercapitalized industries with bespoke structures. With a commitment to fill the void that other specialty finance companies may miss, Edge Capital Lending solves borrower problems in untraditional ways, finding innovative methods to provide more availability while de-risking loans.

Formerly known as Context Business Lending before its rebranding last fall, Edge Capital Lending has created what it calls “ETL” tools (extract, transform, load) to normalize non-standard loan data to be used in other third-party systems while automating several operations and underwriting components using new technology, leading to more efficient processes. The company has implemented a new customer portal that includes integrations with artificial intelligence and decision science to revolutionize its business processes and make decisions in a probabilistic, data-driven way. In addition to providing clients with the most streamlined interfaces, the company has also implemented a new ERP accounting system (Sage), converting from on-premise legacy systems and integrating with other cloud services to reduce billing/payment time in order to improve reporting and visibility into key performance indicators.

The company is also in the process of creating a centralized data repository, or a “a data lake,” for all firm data so that all systems and analytics can interface with each other directly or through APIs. It has also implemented a cold email campaign tool to specifically target and reach thousands of businesses that can benefit from its products in an automated fashion with an automatic intake form for an easier onboarding process.
