Durable Goods Orders Remain Relatively Unchanged in August

New orders for manufactured durable goods in July increased $9.7 billion or 4.4% to $228.9 billion, following two consecutive monthly decreases, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
The latest report on new orders for manufactured durable goods in April shows an increase of $7.7 billion or 3.4% to $235.9 billion. Transportation equipment leads increase in shipments.
The U.S. Census Bureau reported transportation equipment drove the increase in new orders, shipments and unfilled orders for manufactured durable goods in November.
New orders for manufactured durable goods in October decreased 2%, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Transportation equipment led the decrease.
New orders for manufactured durable goods in September increased $8.2 billion, or 3.7%, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Transportation equipment drove the increase, led by nondefense aircraft and parts.
In its latest report on manufacturers’ shipments, inventories and orders, the U.S. Census Bureau said new orders for manufactured durable goods in August increased $0.3 billion or 0.1%. Transportation equipment drove the increase.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, new orders for manufactured durable goods in July decreased $17.8 billion or 7.3% to $226.6 billion.
The U.S. Census Bureau said new orders for manufactured durable goods in June increased $9.9 billion or 4.2%. Transportation equipment, up four of the last five months, led the increase.
