Stifel hired Michael Gonzales as a managing director in the firm’s fixed income capital markets group. In this role, Gonzales will lead Stifel’s efforts to expand its front-end credit sales, focusing on a broad spectrum of fixed income products.
Stifel Financial hired Ed Ribaudo as a managing director and head of leveraged finance capital markets. In this new role, Ribaudo will be responsible for leading the firm’s leveraged finance capital markets and syndicate functions and be based in Stifel’s New York City office.
Stifel Financial hired Charlie Smith as managing director in the firm’s venture and fund banking group. Based in California, Smith will be responsible for West Coast fund banking to venture capital and private equity funds.
Stifel Financial will acquire the future business of North Atlantic Capital, based in Portland, ME. In addition, Stifel made a financial commitment to invest in the next North Atlantic SBIC. North Atlantic was rebranded North Atlantic Capital – a Stifel Company.
Konstantinos N. Aprilakis, MD, joined Stifel Financial as a managing director and senior analyst covering the biotechnology sector. Aprilakis was most recently a director and senior biotechnology research analyst at Deutsche Bank.
Stifel Financial made five senior hires within its European fixed income division. The team was brought on to strengthen Stifel’s global presence and further augment the company’s leveraged loans and GBP franchises.
Stifel Financial hired two managing directors in its investment banking division. Alex Rohan joined Miller Buckfire, Stifel’s restructuring unit, and Greg Urban joined the Stifel Diversified Industrials Group, with a specific focus on the automotive sector.
Veteran investment banker Bill Farmer has joined the Stifel as a managing director to lead the Aerospace, Defense & Government Services Investment Banking Group.
Adam Vengrow has joined Stifel Financial as managing director and head of Credit, responsible for oversight of fixed income research, sales, and trading.
