Katten established the John P. Sieger Excellence in Mentoring Award, named after the longtime partner and former chair of the insolvency and restructuring practice who died last year.
Renée Lercher, who served for several years as CFO at another AmLaw100 firm and most recently was CFO and corporate treasurer at a premier risk management, compliance, investigations and monitoring firm, has been named chief financial officer of Katten.
Katten named Kimberly Smith the new global chair of its corporate department. Smith will lead more than 125 attorneys housed in the department and succeed Mark R. Grossmann, who served as global chair of the group for more than a decade.
