Obra Capital Provides DIP Financing to GWG Holdings

Obra Capital, a portfolio company of RedBird Capital Partners and Reverence Capital Partners, completed a super priority secured debtor-in-possession credit and security agreement for GWG Holdings, a financial services firm based in Dallas.

DataBank Completes First Phase of Recapitalization

DataBank closed its initial recapitalization led by Swiss Life Asset Management AG, EDF Invest, Northleaf Capital Partners and Ardian. Structured as a sale of ownership interests from existing investors for $1.5 billion, the new investor consortium will now own 35% of the fully-diluted equity interests in DataBank.

Blackstone, Ares, PSP and Thoma Bravo Credit Support Thoma Bravo’s Acquisition of Stamps.com

Thoma Bravo completed its acquisition of Stamps.com for approximately $6.6 billion in cash. Blackstone Credit, credit funds managed by Ares Management, PSP Investments Credit II and Thoma Bravo Credit provided debt financing for the transaction.

McDermott Appoints Fennessy and Radia as Partners

International law firm McDermott Will & Emery appointed Mark Fennessy and Sunay Radia to partners in its global transactions practice based in London. Fennessy will serve as head of UK restructuring and both individuals will focus on restructuring and insolvency matters.

Onex Corporation acquired Falcon Investment Advisors, a U.S. private credit manager. The combined platform will merge Falcon’s specialized private credit investing with the investment and origination capabilities of Onex Credit and the broader Onex franchise.

Oaktree Specialty Lending Merges with Oaktree Strategic Income

Oaktree Specialty Lending and Oaktree Strategic Income are merging, with Oaktree Specialty Lending as the surviving company. Oaktree Fund Advisors waived a total of $6 million of management fees for two years following closing in support of the merger.

Garrison Capital Merges with Portman Ridge Finance

Garrison Capital and Portman Ridge Finance entered into a definitive agreement under which Garrison Capital will merge with and into Portman Ridge Finance, which is a business development company managed by Sierra Crest Investment Management.
