Great American Group, Tiger Capital Group, Hilco Merchant Resources and Gordon Brothers will lead the liquidation of all Gymboree and Crazy 8 stores in the U.S. and Canada in the wake of Gymboree’s bankruptcy filing.
Kansas-based salon and spa retailer Beauty Brands has filed for Chapter 11 in the wake of 25 store closures, according to the Kansas City Star.
National Stores will begin a store closing sale at 184 of its remaining locations. The store closing sales are being conducted by a joint venture consisting of Hilco Merchant Resources, Gordon Brothers and SB360 Capital Partners.
Hilco Merchant Resources will manage the store closing process and run retail sales at 74 of 344 National Stores. The specific stores that will close currently operate under the brand name Fallas.
A team of disposition firms consisting of Gordon Brothers, Great American Group, Hilco Merchant Resources and Tiger Capital Group began going-out-of-business sales at all 735 Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us locations throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico on March 23, 2018.
Toys “R” Us will be closing 180 stores. According to documents filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Eastern District of Virginia, Tiger Capital Group, Great American Group, Gordon Brothers Retail Partners and Hilco Merchant Resources will be conducting the liquidation.
Seth Marks joined Hilco Merchant Resources as SVP, chief merchandising officer for HMR and as the CEO of Hilco Wholesale Solutions. Marks joins from Sears Holdings where he served as head of Strategic Merchandising.

Teen retailer Wet Seal has filed Chapter 11 for the second time. Hilco Merchant Resources and Gordon Brothers Retail Partners have been authorized by the court to liquidate the company’s 171 stores.
